Effectiveness of Implementing Ice Breaking on Student Motivation and Learning Outcomes at SDN 17 Kempo

Abstract

This research aims to find out what students' learning motivation is when applying ice breaking and what the student learning outcomes are when applying ice breaking. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type. This research was conducted at SDN 17 Kempo. The research subjects were 30 class V students. The research instrument uses an essay-type test and a questionnaire sheet with a Likert-scale type of questionnaire. Data collection techniques use test and questionnaire methods. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistical analysis. The research results show that the application of ice-breaking has a positive impact on student motivation and learning outcomes. Indicators of learning motivation, namely indicators of desire and desire, succeeded in obtaining a percentage of 88.1% in the good category; varied learning indicators obtained a percentage of 84% in the good category; hopes and aspirations obtained a percentage of 79.2 in the quite good category; awards in learning obtained a percentage of 77.9% in the quite good category; interesting activities got a percentage of 85.2% in the good category; and indicators of a supportive learning environment got a percentage of 84.46% in the good category. The percentage value of learning outcomes before learning was 69.42% in the quite good category, and after learning, it was 83.42% in the good category so it had increased.
